Rafting up!

Donna and Rory had a very nautical wedding. The ceremony happened on the Mar with close family on board. A whole host of friends, collegues and family also participated by rafting up to the Mar in the middle of the Northwest Arm. It was a sight to behold and a ton of fun. The good times continued at the Saraguay Club with food, wine and music. Congrats Donna and Rory. What a day!

Another Regan Wedding

Over the years I've gotten to know most of the Regan clan and have yet to meet one I have not liked. This summer was Cait's turn in the spotlight with a beautiful valley wedding at Acadia. The day was hot and sunny and friends and family were present to celebrate.
I don't do as many weddings as I used to but when I do I remember exactly how much a love them. The excitment, the glamour, the dress, the joy! The hardest part for me is deciding which few shots to post.
Congrats Cait and Jonathan!

Sidney Crosby shines

I am not a hockey fan so when I met and photographed Sidney Crosby last week my only impressions were based on his character and personality. I was not star stuck by his fame or athletic accomplishments, however, I did learn very quickly that his media reputation of a being great guy is well deserved.

Sidney was at the IWK teen lounge; to which he donated money toward a much-needed redesign of the space. It was not just his money that he gave generously but his time and attention to some very sick but thrilled patients. He spent over two hours playing air hockey and guitar hero, shooting pool, doing crafts, and signing autographs. No one made a speech, no media was present and no limelight was sought out. He was engaging and gracious toward everyone in the room. He is both modest and unassuming. His sister and parents were also in attendance and I couldn't help but imagine how proud they are of their boy.

What a hometown hero! It was a pleasure meeting you Sidney.

Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes

And I wouldn't mind being in this kind of shape. Moya Farrel of C100 has just become an inspiration for every woman out there. At the tender age of 49 and a half, Moya is in the best shape of her life and was willing to show it off in a bikini. Sure, we all want to look like Kate Moss some days but real beauty comes from within and Moya's beauty shone bright yesterday. It didn't hurt that she posed with two gorgeous firefighters. Who wouldn't feel sexy standing next to these handsome men. Thanks Joe and Jeff for lending your support.

The rules of engagement

Thursday evening I had not one but two engagement sessions booked. The sun was out, the temperature was up, I assumed we were in for good times. What I didn't count on were the bugs. Huge swarms of them  ready to pick us up and carry us all away. My clients were unfazed, we shot quick and we got out of there with our lives and some damn fine images. Here are a few...

The sun came out again

I photographed Amy and Corey's wedding the day after Hurricane Earl last year. The sun was out then and the sun came out again last night for an inspired rock the dress session. Amy looks just as gorgeous now as she did on her wedding day. You're a lucky man Corey!

A downtown engagement

Darlene and Andrew are getting married this summer so we went downtown for a few engagement photos.
Havng a few engagement photos done is a great way to break the ice and get comfortable with being photographed before the big day. These guys didn't need it; they are so comfortable with each other that they didn't seem to even notice I was there. Darlene is so bouncy and full of life I can't wait to be part of their wedding day.
